He is in control

“And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.”

–      Romans 8:28

Hi! How are you? Hopefully you are all keeping well, even though that is not always the case. We all have different circumstances, and while some reading this may be in a good place, contented with their day, others may be going through trials that we don’t know about. But can I ask, what is your vision today? What is your vision in life? Are you living to earn enough money to live a comfortable life, striving towards the family/big house/nice car scenario that is seen by many as the ‘ideal’? Maybe you want a good reputation from your peers, living to please those around you even more than yourself.

But in all of this, where is God? How much does He figure in your ‘blueprint’ of life? Our reading today tells us that when we love Him, and put Him first in all of our plans, above all earthly pleasures, all of our circumstances come together to fulfil God’s plan in our lives. It doesn’t mean that life will be easy, or that there won’t be hard times, but that God will use these in His ‘timetable’ for our lives.

While we have no guarantee of an easy life where we never have to struggle, with faith in Christ we can be content in life knowing that God has a plan that will only bring good to us, if not on earth, then in Heaven for eternity.

“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.”
